Who We Are
Sauti Village is a community-based mentoring program based in Nairobi, Kenya, focused on growing the imagination of children living in marginalized communities for what could be possible in their lives, and then helping them act on their hopes and dreams.

Sauti Village is a registered 503(c) Christian nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded by Jey Mbiro in 2021 as a result of growing up poor in the Mathare slums, surrounded by abject poverty which contributed to a lack of confidence and motivation.

Access to mentorship and guidance changed his life. He gained a purpose through the words and the wisdom of those that surrounded him, and this propels him to pass it on, creating Sauti Village to provide a similar uplifting, educational, supportive environment for children. While Sauti Village currently works in Kenya, we have a vision to expand and spark impact across Africa. Sauti is a Swahili word that means “voice”.

All people, including the underserved and underprivileged, have a voice, and need to have that voice heard. Sauti Village aims at contributing to intergenerational equity by supporting and amplifying voices of people living in marginalized and poor communities, creating meaningful spaces and directly impacting young people for the sake of the future.
Mission and Vision
Mission
Sauti Village is working to equip children out of poverty across African countries from a culturally empowered lens. Sauti Village does this by partnering each child with an African mentor to empower them through mentorship and connecting them to relevant talent programs.
Vision
We aim to free our communities from poverty by focusing on mentorship and empowerment.
